Winnie the Pooh is one of the most beloved characters in Children's Literature and animation. Kids and adult alike have followed Winnie the Pooh's adventures through the 100 Acre Forest for many years. A Winnie the Pooh themed cake is a great idea for a baby shower. Not only is the will the baby grow up with Winnie the Pooh, the parents and guests likely have fond memories of this lovable character as well. Creating and decorating your own Winnie the Pooh cake is relatively easy if you follow a few of these basic steps.

Step1:
Print out the template provided above and cut it out with a pair of scissors. Remove the cake from the pan. Put the template over the cake. Cut the shape of Winner the Pooh's head out of a sheet of yellow cake using a 3 1/2-inch long paring knife. Work your knife around the template until you have completed the shape of Pooh's head. Remove the excess cake with your hands.

Step2:
Let the cake cool. Spread yellow frosting over the entire cake with a 4 1/2-inch long icing spatula. Apply the frosting to the sides of the cake with the spatula as well. Let the frosting sit for an hour to stiffen slightly.

Step3:
Add pink frosting to the ears of Winne the Pooh with the icing spatula. Start in the center of each ear and slowly work your way out until you have a small pink circle. Spread the bottom side of the circle down until the inside of the ear looks flat at the bottom and round at the top.

Step4:
Draw on Pooh's eyes with two small ovals of black decorative icing. Squeeze the icing directly from the tube and onto the cake. Draw the eyebrows with curves lines above the eyes with the icing tube.

Create the nose of Winnie the Pooh with an upside down triangle of black decorative frosting from the tube. Draw out the triangle lines first and then pipe the icing inside the triangle in a back and forth motion to fill in the nose.

Step6:
Brush the round side of the tip of the spoon against the edges of the nose to round them slightly. Smooth the surface of the nose by lightly brushing the round side of the spoon over the nose. Create Pooh's smile with a large semi circle at the bottom of the face. Add his dimples with small curves attached directly to the sides of Pooh's smile.
